is this project dead?
Is this project dead? because the last commit was made almost 4 years ago.
Dependencies https://github.com/xolox/python-capturer and https://github.com/xolox/python-humanfriendly have also not been committed to in a similar amount of time, and @xolox appears to have had very little activity on GitHub in the past few years.
(will Github even let me ~spam this? idk.)
@musicinmybrain @pikaro @arpitjain799 @zrajna @paulbroek @sbraz @pabloa @BugCheck141 @EpicWink @heni Each of you has a fork of this repo with various patches to resolve issues, ever since the maintainer/owner (@xolox ) appears to have moved on.
I would be willing to throw some time into maintaining, modernizing, handling the [a new?] PyPI package. I'd do this if there's anyone else to work on it with.
@xolox it would be good to hear from you.
I doubt the CI costs are high, I've got two work codebases using coloredlogs, and the effort needed to keep this library functional seems pretty low - it seems pretty high quality.
If any of you want to email me out of band to discuss this you can probably guess my email from my username at a ubiquitous email platform owned company starting with a G.
Personally, I contributed https://github.com/xolox/python-coloredlogs/pull/120 while working on packages that had issues with Python 3.13 in Fedora. My fork is not a maintained fork, just somewhere from which to open that PR.
Since then, the number of packages that depend on python-coloredlogs in Fedora has dwindled to one, so it’s unlikely that I’ll be contributing more patches.
I do appreciate your efforts, and I wish you luck in finding interested collaborators.
