Problem with ALT M and Can't Add Button to Menu in Win10

Open netsec-ct opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

In an email, the Alt-M sequence opens the Message menu column.

And I cannot find the Note Button so I can add it to the toolbar.

depending on your locale, Alt-M can be in conflict with TB settings. you can go to tolls esnu, addons, clock the cog sy,bol, in German TB, the last menu entry leads to a page where you can change the keys alt or M.

Before doing that, try some letter combinations and see which is free to use, or use a triple letter (e.g. alt-ctrl-some letter)

XNote button: which OS do you have? In Win 11, it comes up automatically next to the search field at the very top.

Sorry, but even following your workaround I somehow still experience the same issue that the shortcut is not working either being in the inbox email overview as well as with opened emails. (Win 10 Education 22H2, TB 115.15.0 german (still on 115 due to missing support of exchange calendar in v128), Xnote++ 4.3.32). I tried to change it to ALT+X (oops, the mail was gone...), as well as CTRL-ALT-X. Both didn't have any effect. :-(

@netsec-ct: A ticket must describe a single issue. If these issues persist, please file a ticket for each and scrap this one. Do not forget to indicate the version.

I think the first issue reported is about the Alt+ m keyboard shortcut, which is supposed to toggle a note's display. Instead, if displays the Message menu (as of XNote 4.3.38 with Thunderbird 128).
