maybe a problem on webos library loading maybe related to OS version webOS TV 5.6.1? but i have no knowledge and way to test webos i try to ping @cscd98 is he has some hint for you
Ok, thank you.
Here is the state of play for webOS:
webOS 4 is not supported, at is using an old CDM interface 8, however I did work on this but lack of testers and a device so its not been progressed.
webOS 5 - 7 do not expose /dev/tee0 in the dev environment. So at present there is no way for the CDM to communicate with the secure decoder. The only work around is to create the device yourself as root or run kodi as root (the latter I do not recommend). But I do not have one of those devices either. You might get more help on the discord from others though.
webOS 8 - 10 work out of the box, as /dev/tee0 is accessible through dev mode.
At least that is my understanding.
do you think there could be a way to prevent loading the WV library for webOS <= 7 to avoid the crash? or anyway another way to prevent this crash
Can't root my tv, because the firmware is the last one and patched. :(
@CastagnaIT I actually did try and come up with a helpful error message over the weekend for users, but that didn't work. I need to think more about it. I don't think we should just stop all users < 7 use it, as one of the early testers (a well known kodi contributor) was using webOS 5 and he did use the root "fix".
@spider7611 Got no answers just yet, but maybe a brain wave will hit me. Don't count on it.
Not a good news. :(
