System Sounds Garbled/Crackling With Kernel 5.19.0
Other audio from videos and music sources only occasionally garbled. Had the same issues with subsequent releases after 5.18.0-051800 generic. With 5.18.0, no problems.

Please, try adding to 64kb or 2048kb prealloc buffer (default 0):
echo 64 | sudo tee /proc/asound/card*/pcm*/sub*/prealloc
EDIT: Sorry I spoke too soon. When I loaded an OS in Boxes and ran it the crackling started, again. I tried adding both 64 & 2048 with the same result.
Added 64 and this seems to have taken care of the sound issue. Thank you!

Just wanted to add same result with 5.19.1 & 5.19.2. I just noticed though there is an error when the installing the kernels.......libssl3 not installed
