Spelling dictionaries are not UTF-8 encoded

Open karolpiczak opened this issue 8 years ago • 2 comments

The additional dictionaries which come prepackaged with WriteMonkey (as well as those available through the OpenOffice website) seem to be in local encodings (at least that's the case with Polish). With WM3 being UTF-8 only, this results in a lot of spelling errors in words which incorporate diacritical marks.

I've replaced those dictionaries with the version available at: Hunspell dictionaries in UTF-8. Works fine so far.

The same with Cyrillic based languages. Dictionaries crush WM or just don't work: sometimes mark all words as errors, sometimes showing no errors at all, while there's a lot of them really.
