Strange flow when trying to add a domain for a staging site

Expected behavior

The area to purchase the domain not to be accessible on staging sites since purchasing the domain is not possible.

Actual behavior

When I try to add a custom domain on a staging site, I am able to select it first but after proceeding, I am redirected to the hosting overview for a staging site with no further way to purchase the domain.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

• Create a site with a Creator plan on WordPress.com
• Activate Hosting Features from Settings -> Hosting Configuration
• Create a staging site from Staging site tab: https://wordpress.com/staging-site/{yourAtomicSite}
• Navigate to the staging site on your mobile device in the Jetpack app
• Scroll to the area from which you can purchase a custom domain
• Add the domain name in the field
• Proceed with the purchase
• Observe that you are brought to the overview of the staging sites with no further option to purchase a custom domain

Tested on iPhone 15 MaxPro, iOS 17.5.1, Jetpack iOS / WordPress iOS 25.1
