Suggestions List (using @mention) sometimes lags or appears blank

Expected behavior

Suggestions list to be shown after expanding/collapsing the reply input instantly

Actual behavior

Suggestions list seems to appear after sometime or blank at times after this fix especially on first time invocation. It seems to work fine on subsequently.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1 - Tap the "My Site" tab. 2 - Tap on "Menu" 3 - Tap on "Comments" row. 4 - Tap any comment. 5 - Tap "Reply" button. 6 - Type "@". You should see the suggestions list. Tap on the chevron up button: the reply input is expanded and the suggestions list either lags or appears blank especially on first invocation.

Tested on iPhone Xs, iOS 16.0, WPiOS 20.8
