Contents of blockquotes duplicated upon edit

trying to un-blockquote contents in a published post duplicates quote content

samsung sm-t, android 4.4.2

repro:

create list
end list
type words
when cursor is on normal p below list, tap blockquote
note that list and paragraph are wrapped in blockquote per https://github.com/wordpress-mobile/WordPress-Editor-Android/issues/210
publish post
tap post to edit
place cursor anywhere within blockquote
tap blockquote icon in format bar (as if to remove blockquote)
entire contents of blockquote are duplicated with every tap of blockquote button

Simpler repro:

in new or existing post
tap blockquote icon on new line to initiate quote
type a few words
tap enter
tap blockquote to end quote
note that cursor remains in quote and text within bq is duplicated below within quote
