Android App or Editor removes shortcodes
It seems the Android App or Editor removes shortcodes of some plugins. I tested it with one of the major translation apps (and the one that most likely would most easily work with Wordpress Mobile): qTranslate-X.
This is the observed behavior:
- If text and translation are entered via regular WordPress admin, editing them in the app will delete the translation.
- If text and translation are entered via the app (using shortcodes), both app and regular admin will recognize both text and translation: the app recognizes the shortcodes and the admin shows her normal behaviour. But after editing and saving them in the regular admin, the app will fallback to the behaviour as described in 1. Deleted translations can not be recovered via the WordPress backend.
I also checked the database and indeed: after saving in the app, the shortcodes are gone. I suspect this to be a bug in the Editor.
Adding this to the list of old editor bugs to check for in the new all-visual editor we're building.
Thanks. Is there a public roadmap for this new editor?
@theAlien-01 There is no official public roadmap, but in short, we are porting the visual editor implemented in iOS to Android.

Thanks
I tested this issue in the new visual editor (version alpha-4) and reproduced the behavior described above.
qTranslate X offers several editor modes in the plugin settings > Advanced > Editor Mode. You can see the issue most clearly if you use "Editor Raw Mode." You'll still see the shortcodes in wp-admin after you save the post, but if you go back to the app you'll only see one language (no shortcodes).
