No interface for view blocked contacts and no awareness for end user to know about he/she got blocked
No interface for view blocked contacts
When user blocked a one or multiple contacts but there's no interface for view them. Why is it important?
- If user decide to unblock certain contact then no chance to check who blocked except memorize those contacts usernames and search manually in global search box.
- While particular contacts still has relation with account although cannot make any direct impact but it's important to have option to view them at anytime easily. It has various benefits for users; not only above mentioned.
- There's no chance for particular contact to re-send contact request to talk again or become friend if it wasn't a cause like spam or stranger. Otherhand it's convenient to have delete contact feature then it bring that chance for wire users also drop relation with account completely
No awareness for end user to know about he/she got blocked
When blocked a contact then end user cannot recognize it by anyway and able to send messages same as before. That looks like wire haven't develop this part on platform.
- It's necessary to grayed out "type a message" box, audio and video call buttons. (enough and convenient)
- Or grayed out audio/video buttons and keep message box active. Display eg:
Hi wire!failedstatus when send message. (convenient)
Additional enhancements
Report Feature I also suggest to add "Report" option to platform. Display such button under individual profiles, groups, teams with simple title and description form or redirect to external page form. Currently no one has chance to let you know easily about spam activities and illegal activities such as drug dealing, adult contents sharing etc except find contact page for more rised and severe causes https://support.wire.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Delete contacts Many users ask to add this feature for cut off relations with necessary contacts completely. Block contact feature only helps to accomplish it virtually but still ties with account; it's uncomfortable for users due how it works and people with privacy in mind don't interest for that. Delete contact feature also help for re-send contact request again instead get blocked permanently. Below you can see the demand to implement that from mentioned issues

Good summarizing. The lack of "Delete Contact" feature is really inconvenient. Inability to view blocked contacts is also disappointing.

Most modern messaging apps have similar behavior. So current Wire behavior can be considered as expected.
