barcode scanner is perform poorly in low android version (<4.4 kitkat)

i have a question, did you manage to get it working below 4.4 at all ?

We got android 4.4 working and ios working.

But we CANNOT get android 4.2 working at all, we tried on Sony Xperia and Xiaomi. The Manifest file is correct as well, it says minSdkVersion to be 16. Should we set it lower ? I feel this is a common problem that maybe resolved, how do we get lower than Android 4.4 to work.

I have the same problem. The app didn't work properly in android 4.2.2, the first time returns the correct text (not always) but the next scanns returns barcodeData.cancelled=true
