Suggestion for Alibaba Dragonwell JDK Recommendation
I came across your website, which provides valuable information about different JDK implementations. I appreciate the detailed analysis and recommendations you've provided.
However, I noticed that the recommendation for Alibaba Dragonwell JDK lacks sufficient explanation. The statement "Do not use Alibaba Dragonwell, unless you are forced by your government." seems subjective and not supported by any specific reasons or evidence.
I believe it would be beneficial for readers to understand the rationale behind your recommendation. Here are a few suggestions:
- Technical Considerations: Are there any technical limitations or issues with Alibaba Dragonwell that you encountered? If so, please elaborate on them to help readers make informed decisions.
- Licensing and Support: Have you explored the licensing and support options provided by Alibaba for Dragonwell? Understanding these factors is crucial for users considering this JDK implementation.
- Community and Ecosystem: What is the state of the Alibaba Dragonwell community and ecosystem? Is there active development and community support? This information can influence users' choice of JDK implementation.
I understand that you may not have personal experience with Alibaba Dragonwell. However, considering its equal function and position to other implementations, providing a more balanced and well-reasoned analysis would be valuable for your readers.
Thank you for considering my suggestions. I hope this issue contributes to making your website even more comprehensive and informative.
I agree that there should be some sort of explanation.
One more thing, there's no reason for our government to force using this product, as this jdk implementation isn't the only one from China -- we also have other jdk implementations like Bisheng JDK (comes with EulerOS and OpenEuler GNU/Linux distro), etc. As I know, many government projects still use OpenJDK provided by GNU/Linux distro vendors or eclipse adoptium.
The website says 'This site gives independent, yet opinionated recommendations.' Yes, opinionated. Or maybe the website is forced by the government? Just like he said about Dragonwell.
