Packer Status doesn't show info for LuaSnip.
Hi Lewis,
- I don't believe this is urgent because I don't know if this affects me in a real way.
- I haven't been able to figure out if there is already an existing relevant issue that I should read.
- Do you think this is an issue with LuaSnip?
-
nvim --version:
NVIM v0.7.0
Build type: Release
LuaJIT 2.1.0-beta3
Compiled by brew@BigSur
Features: +acl +iconv +tui
See ":help feature-compile"
system vimrc file: "$VIM/sysinit.vim"
fall-back for $VIM: "/usr/local/Cellar/neovim/0.7.0/share/nvim"
-
git --version:
git version 2.36.1
- Operating system/version:
macOS 11.5.1 20G80 x86_64
- Terminal name/version:
alacritty 0.9.0 (fed349a)
Steps to reproduce
I don't know this.
Actual behaviour
- I run
:PackerStatus - Press
<CR>with cursor onLuaSnip - Nothing happens. If a plugin is listed above alphabetically, then this plugin expands to show info instead.
- This only happens to LuaSnip it seems.
I have checked that LuaSnip installs as it should and seems to be working. However, I am having trouble getting it to work with cmp but I am assuming that is unrelated to this issue.
So in conclusion I am not sure if this issue really affects me in any way but it just seems wierd.
Expected behaviour
LuaSnip should show info like all other plugins when running plugin status command.
I have checked that LuaSnip commands work fine. Since I am not getting LuaSnip to work for myself with nvim-cmp I am not able to get snippets to show so I am not able to use them fyi, but I can list all snippets so it seem to be loading properly I think.
packer files
This is the packer commit i am using: 4dedd3b08f8c6e3f84afbce0c23b66320cd2a8f2
I am using doom-nvim latest alpha v3 and this is how packer is configured if you think it would be of relevance https://github.com/NTBBloodbath/doom-nvim/blob/next/lua/doom/core/modules.lua
This is how plugins are configured in doom if you think it would require more diggin: https://github.com/NTBBloodbath/doom-nvim/tree/next/lua/doom/modules/features
I put the luasnip config below, however this is the one that has worked before
Luasnip config
local snippets = {}
snippets.settings = {
history = true,
updateevents = "TextChanged,TextChangedI",
}
snippets.packages = {
["LuaSnip"] = {
"L3MON4D3/LuaSnip",
commit = "cc0086390c6cd2eaebae1834b115c891649ec95f",
requires = { "rafamadriz/friendly-snippets", opt = true },
},
}
snippets.configs = {}
snippets.configs["LuaSnip"] = function()
require("luasnip").config.set_config(doom.features.snippets.settings)
require("luasnip.loaders.from_vscode").lazy_load()
end
return snippets

edit
The issue of LuaSnip not showing status still persists. Now after having created the issue, luasnip all of a sudden works perfectly again for me with nvim-cmp and I am not sure why exactly but I have done a couple of packer cleans/compile/installs so I just wanted to add this here.
