command 0x22, data 0xC4 - what's its function?

So... "Display Update Control 2", aka command 0x22, has a commonly used data value of 0xC4.

For curiosity's sake, what does it do? It's undocumented, it's working, but I don't know why. esphome uses it as well for default, with a switch for a few displays which need a different value. It's also one of the uncommented values in the libs.
