Gmail account randomly gets duplicated in wrong group
- Wavebox Version: 10.0.69.2 Stable
- Operating System & Version: Windows 10 Pro
- Account type (if applicable): Gmail
- I currently have 3 groups set up. One's for work, and two for personal. They have completely different group names.
- Each group has a gmail account associated with it. My work uses Gmail as well for our email.
- Each group has a slack app and account associated with them, all different workgroups and accounts.
I have no reproduceable flow to make this happen, and it happens seemingly randomly, but the gmail account associated with my work group will sometimes suddenly also get associated with one of my personal groups. I'll then have two instances of my work Gmail account and I'm unable to get to my personal Gmail. The only way to fix this, is to fully exit out of Wavebox and restart the app.
Looking in my settings still show the correct Gmail accounts associated with each group, except the icon is incorrect.

Sidebar
Top icon is my work avatar, and work email account. Below that is my work Slack. Third icon is my personal group but it shows my work email account. Slack account is my personal one. Clicking on the Slack icons take me to the proper Slack instance, but clicking the main icon both take me to the work email account.

Settings screen
First one is my work group. Everything looks fine here.

Personal group shows the correct gmail account under the Gmail title but it's using my work email avatar.

Hey, would you be able to drop support a message about this and we'll try and help. Also it would be really helpful if you generate some diagnostics when sending this to support - it should help us track down whats' gone wrong...
- Go to Settings > Advanced and click
Generate Diagnostics - Then once that's complete click the
Send to Waveboxbutton and drop
@WillsonHaw I think I know the source of the issue. It is automatic tab discarding from Chrome cause this problem. Until fixed in Wavebox you can use this extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/disable-automatic-tab-dis/dnhngfnfolbmhgealdpolmhimnoliiok/reviews Just install it and you will be fine.
@Thomas101 similar issue was with WhatsApp when clicking on the group didn't show correct browser window.
@ToLive I've installed the extension and let it run a few days, haven't seen the issue come up again since. Thanks for the workaround!
@Thomas101 do you still want me to create a support message about this? The workaround seems to work for now.
@ToLive @WillsonHaw we added an option into 10.0.104 to disable tab discarding if you don't want to use the extension. It's under Settings > Advanced. Would be good to know if you still see the issue with that.
@WillsonHaw would be great if you could message support, it would be good to get a handle on what's happening here and run some diagnostics so we can get to the bottom of it
@Thomas101 Thanks! Works well with this new option. No need for extension anymore.
Should this be considered as fixed?
