Search Filter Query `owner:me` is not working

My language is set to Japanese, and the search filter query owner:me does not return any results. I also tested by changing the language to English. All the other queries mentioned (in the quick reference at least) work. owner:[my name] also works. But not me. My hypothesis is that it's treaking me as a owner name (a user account named "me"), instead of the semantic meaning of "Owned by me".
