Update to Angular, CLI, and Material

I updated the project to work with angular 4, angular/cli 1.04 and angular/material 2.0.0-beta.5. It may not be the cleanest as I'm still learning Material and while the book shows a filter button on page 6, I couldn't find it anywhere in any version of the code so I'm hoping that graphic was a wireframe.
