Describe the bug

The VMware Product Interoperability Matrix provides details about the compatibility of different versions of VMware Tools (includes open-vm-tools) and other VMware Products.

https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools

Currently, vmware product interop matrix(https://interopmatrix.vmware.com/Interoperability) does not provide details about open-vm-tools. Per KB 2073803, plz remove the original whole sentence, and add below to make the compatibility more intuitive.

No compatibility matrix check is required for open-vm-tools. Adhering to the VMware Compatibility Matrix for the guest OS release is sufficient. https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2073803

Hi, I think I get the issue, let me know if that is the case or not.

The wording on the main page, while correct lends to confusion. As is: """ The VMware Product Interoperability Matrix provides details about the compatibility of different versions of VMware Tools (includes open-vm-tools) and other VMware Products. """

This part: "version of VMware Tools (includes open-vm-tools) and", is intended to convey that the compatibility matrix of "VMware Tools" applies to (includes) "open-vm-tools".

By looking up VMware Tools release versions in the compatibility matrix, you are getting results for matching open-vm-tools release versions.

Ex.: To check the compatibility of VMware Tools 12.2.5 with another product or feature:

  1. Select "VMware Tools" as the solution,
  2. Enter or select 12.2.5 in the versions drop down.
  3. under the "with" configure the target product or feature to check compatibility with, -OR- leave blank for a complete list of products and features to be generated.

A different wording should resolve this first part.
