using the -n or --network flag on vcd vapp create wipes out template nic and replaces with flexible

I noticed when creating a vapp if I specify a network it wipes out the nic type (VMXNET3) on the catalog template and replaces it with flexible which breaks the VM entirely

If I create the vapp but do not specify nic then connect after the fact it does not wipe out the nic

windows 2016 template with a VMXNET3 adapter

Same issue but in my case is independent to using -n or not
