Need to clarify auto-unmount feature during computer shutdown for Linux

Open jmevel opened this issue 6 months ago • 1 comments

Hi,

The FAQ says

Do I have to unmount VeraCrypt volumes before shutting down or restarting Windows?

No. VeraCrypt automatically unmounts all mounted VeraCrypt volumes on system shutdown/restart.

But how about Linux? I see many answered questions in the FAQ are specifically for Windows. Does this mean the Linux version doesn't have all those feature?

I'm running on Fedora 42 and I'm wondering if I should spend some time to make a script to manually trigger VeraCrypt to unmount my volumes when I'm turning off my PC or if this is automatically supported just like on Windows?

Thanks for your answer

This kind of question was already asked nearly a decade ago in the official SourceForge-Forum and on askUbuntu. And it seems, that is not the case. According to Brave-Search AI it's also not supported.

Peut-être @idrassi could solve this question officially once and for all.
