Continuing maintenance of Python-fontconfig

@vayn I hope this message finds you well.

I'm part of the Inkscape development team working on the extension-ai project, which enables the import of Adobe Illustrator files into Inkscape. extension-ai requires robust font support, which is why we rely on Python-fontconfig.

As I understand, the Python-fontconfig project has been inactive for over 12 years, with no new releases since 2011. We are interested in exploring the possibility of taking over its maintenance.

If you feel this arrangement aligns with your vision for Python-fontconfig, we would be grateful for your permission to proceed with the transfer. Please let us know how we can move forward with this.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We greatly appreciate your contributions to open-source software and look forward to continue the development of Python-fontconfig.

Hi @ManpreetXSingh . I was surprised when @lilydjwg reached out to me on Wednesday and informed me about this new issue. I’m glad that this project can continue to contribute to the open-source world. I’ve transferred the entire repository to @Vim-cn organization, and for any future matters related to this project, you can contact @lilydjwg directly.
