-RA problem
At Heathrow the weather had a -RA statement which VATIS could not understand. Later I added -RA and +RA to the json file, but not sure if that will work. John
Walkthrough
The pull request refactors several asynchronous workflows across the codebase. In the AtisBuilder class, redundant sandboxRequest parameters are removed, and method calls are simplified. Cancellation token support is added to network and text-to-speech operations by updating the method signatures and internal calls in AuthTokenManager, its interface, and TextToSpeechService. Additionally, the AtisStationViewModel now employs multiple CancellationTokenSource instances (and a SemaphoreSlim) to better manage concurrent asynchronous tasks and event flow.
Changes
| File(s) | Change Summary |
|---|---|
vATIS.../Atis/AtisBuilder.cs |
Removed sandboxRequest parameters from BuildVoiceAtis, CreateVoiceAtis, and ParseNodesFromMetar; eliminated conditional delays; updated UpdateIds to include the cancellation token. |
vATIS.../Networking/AuthTokenManager.cs, vATIS.../Networking/IAuthTokenManager.cs |
Added a CancellationToken parameter to GetAuthToken, integrated cancellation checks (using ThrowIfCancellationRequested), and passed tokens to network methods (PostJsonResponse, ReadAsStringAsync). |
vATIS.../TextToSpeech/TextToSpeechService.cs |
Updated RequestAudio to include a CancellationToken parameter; added an immediate cancellation check; removed the catch block for OperationCanceledException. |
vATIS.../Ui/ViewModels/AtisStationViewModel.cs |
Introduced multiple CancellationTokenSource instances and a SemaphoreSlim to manage asynchronous operations; replaced single token usage and streamlined event and error handling logic. |

Poem
I’m a rabbit coding through the night,
Hopping past delays with cancellation in sight,
Dropping old parameters so clean and true,
Async flows now sparkle in a view so new,
With tokens and locks, my code’s a delight! 🐇✨
Happy hops and secure stops—let’s code on right!
