possible support for dell latitude series?

I've been searching for a way of getting a hdd/ssd led indicator on my dell latitude working on windows couple times, and I found this gist.
Is it possible for the developer to support also dell devices?
I'm not aware of differences related to hardware, thus it's more a question than issue, but I don't even know where could I ask it.

Maybe there's already a similar app working with dells, but trying to find anything nowadays gives me a headache after couple hours.
