if you are using the windows 10 (explorerpatcher) taskbar:

You can drag and drop the icon in the system tray to the popup menu that you don't want shown.

duplicate of: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/issues/1454

Please close this.

also it currently crashes and is already known about here: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/issues/3621

I can confirm this on Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise with latest updates. Windows 11 taskbar style: Image Windows 10 taskbar style (both options with and without '(ExplorerPatcher)') Image All tray icons gone.

Please post windows version and build. You can find this by running winver. Please include if you are running x86-64 or Arm. And what language your windows is in. Please post explorer patcher version, by running EP properties application and click on About on the left side.

Open up EP Properties application, go to taskbar, and set taskbar style to Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher), not Windows 10. We no longer offer support on the stock Windows 10 taskbar.

please see this for more info: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/wiki/ExplorerPatcher's-taskbar-implementation

if you do not see Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher), you need to uninstall and install the latest version of EP from here: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/releases

you upgraded to windows 11 24h2/25h2 from 23h2/24h2 without uninstalling EP first before doing the upgrade.

Thanks @pyrates999 for the quick reply!

I am using Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher) as taskbar style as you suggested. Just tried the old one to check for different behavior, but it is same.

EP About: Image

winver: Image Running on an x86-64 HP Notebook. My system language is configured to English using a German keyboard layout.

Unfortunately I cannot upgrade to a newer windows version (24H2 or 25H2), because my machine is managed by my organization and I have no influence on that.

I also tried installing 22631.5335.68.2 because it says it has been tested with Windows build 22631.5335 (closest to mine). But it shows same behavior as well.

Thanks for your support!

Try setting it to show all system tray icons.

You can find it by going into the EP Properties application and selecting Taskbar on the left side. And then clicking on Customize notification area icons.

That is part of the problem. This view is all empty. Image Has this something to do with EP or is this a general Windows issue came with the last update or is it only my PC? If only my PC, any advice how to fix this? I couldn't find some good hint on google yet...

Ok, sorry, I managed to get it back working 😄 It was a group policy setting, that recently seems to have changed. Image That was set to enabled. After setting it back to not configured and a reboot, all icons are back. 👍 Sorry for the inconcenience.
