mklink /D - create
.lnkfor that dir symlink. - copy the .lnk file to
shell:programs\mine\ - when new item appeared in start menu list, pin it as tile.
- try to move the tile.
Expected outcome

Actual outcome
I cannot move it into other tile groups. And I cannot move it inside the initial group. But I can move tiles from other groups into this group.

Since you didn't tick the one where it says you don't have register as shell extension enabled:
In EP properties application, click on file explorer, untick register as shell extension and click restart file explorer in the bottom left corner.
Here's why not to enable it: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/wiki/Using-ExplorerPatcher-as-shell-extension
Then see if it is still happening to you.
Now I unticked that and made another try. It's still the same, the problem is not gone.
please check in this discussion: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/issues/3984
try this work around for pinning: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/issues/3984#issuecomment-2564616169
try this work around for unpinning: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/issues/3984#issuecomment-2585709124
no, it's not the same problem. I can pin and unpin, and I cannot reproduce https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/issues/3984#issuecomment-2564616169 as it would drop when I tap win key.
the problem is, it just can't move. other than that, everything seems good.
Please make the instructions more detailed. Are they to be ran in powershell or command prompt? Please include an example such as to explorer.exe.
No, it's just a common .lnk file stored under some folder, which is under shell:programs directory. The only special thing is that the .lnk points to a symlink file for directory, which is created using mklink /D command and this is the only thing that need to be done in command prompt.
a view of links:
.lnk(under shell:programs directory) -> work (symlink for directory) -> Company A (actual directory that I want to enter)
Please list an example this happens with the exact instructions listed that you got to be there as I'm running windows 10. So I can tell you if this bug is in windows 10, or the windows 10 start menu implemented in EP for windows 11.
Well, I'm sorry for that as I can't recreate a .lnk that works the same as that mentioned. I looked into the binaries and I found that the old one, which caused the problem, is smaller than the new one, which does not lead to any problem. It seems that I've got a wired .lnk file somehow. Thanks for your help.
Do you have any interest to figure out what happened to the "abnormal" .lnk file? Anyway, I will upload the bad one and the good one, for the possibility that someone would like to figure out.

that I can't help you with since it is now working for you.
