Search button is highlighted when Start menu is open

The second one is self-explanatory, but the first one is this: bandicam-2024-09-16-19-51-22-083

This GIF shows that when pressing the Search button and then the Start button, everything is normal, but when you press it again it plays both at the same time until you press Search again. Task view is not affected. Also sorry for the horrible GIF quality, I had to convert it quickly from video using an online website.

Please specify which taskbar you are using.

Please post windows version and build. You can find this by running winver. Please include if you are running x86-64 or Arm. And what language your windows is in. Please post explorer patcher version.

Should've specified, oops. Taskbar: Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher) Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.4169) x86-64, English (United States)

That's a normal behavior with the Windows 10 taskbar and start menu where search opens up as an invisible window making it possible to show up when you start typing

I have a feeling this has been reported before. This problem is inherent to the 10 taskbar and is not related to the reimplemented taskbar. But for sure I can fix it in the reimplemented taskbar. Although I do not know if i have the motivation for it or not, the old code is rather integrated.

Ah, okay. That explains the first issue at least.

Microsoft apparently has fixed this issue in 24H2, but left it broken in 22H2/23H2...
