Linux Undefined instruction: 0000000002000000 C#11 SMP
Describe the issue
I'm getting seemingly randomly error [ 100.7812961 Internal error: Oops - Undefined instruction: 0000000002000000 C#11 SMP during NixOS installation on UTM using apple hypervisor, whole log is:
When I finished installation and while I was writing this report, I left VM waiting on login prompt and I got another error Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000000, while log is here:
Distribution Linux nixos 6.1.65 #1-NixOS SMP Sun Dec 3 06:32:13 UTC 2023 aarch64 GNU/Linux
EDIT: I tried also on parallels and it seems there is everything working
EDIT: I also tried debian with same result, Linux debianxfs 6.1.0-15-arm64 #1 SMP Debian 6.1.66-1 (2023-12-09) aarch64 GNU/Linux
Configuration
- UTM Version: 4.4.5 (94)
- macOS Version: Sonoma 14.1.2
- Mac Chip (Intel, M1, ...): Apple M1

Today I tried to run debian in different situations and it happened in background, I was unable to power off laptop, I got access denied event to systemctl poweroff as root. I found this in journalctl:

When I list /lib/systemd/system/ I see poweroff.target but when I try cat poweroff.target I get file not found, so maybe this is related to https://github.com/utmapp/UTM/issues/4840, but when I tried stress-ng --iomix 4 for I think 10 minutes, it did not happened
I've also experienced similar problems trying to install NixOS inside an apple hypervisor VM.
Never got them before. After updating to Sonoma 14.4, I'm getting these within a few hours of running my debian virtual machines in the background doing nothing. Also, the "Virtual Machine Service for UTM" CPU usage goes to 200% and makes entire UTM proces hang, only killing it will get rid of it to start it anew.
I got back to this after some time and I can confirm that now I do not experience same issue. Since then I updated UTM and also OSX multiple times so I can't point to which version of what resolved that issue.
