Can't directly open UTM file on other path
I installed os on UTM local path and move to USB Disk in utm delete shortcuts close apps and directly click utm vm file on usb disk, will open utm apps but not showing the shortcut for vm
can fix it?
Configuration
- UTM Version: 3.1.5(53)
- OS Version: 12.3
- Apple Silicon
I am not able to reproduce the bug. Do you see a progress indicator when opening the .utm? Can you use File -> Open (Cmd+O)?
i have a similar issue. i moved a macos12 vm to a different folder (it was originally located in a very nested folder) via the Clone function. now when i open UTM it shows a grayed out placeholder for the macos vm which displays an error message that it needs to be removed and re-added via File->Open. While this works and the macos vm can be used, the shortcut becomes invalid upon closing UTM and opening UTM anew.
i performed the same steps with a Ubuntu vm (moved to a different folder) but that does not have this problem and works as expected.
UTM v 3.2.4 (58) Macos 12.5 guest Macos 12.5 host M1 Pro
.
I see that my issue has been fixed in the 4.0.0 beta.
"(macOS) Fixed running from shortcut in Apple VMs (no longer need to re-import after each launch)"
thanks!
