@jmansour I had a look at that function and it seems to have diverged quite significantly from the DMInterpolationEvaluate that is currently in PETSc. Looking at the logs it seems that you and Matt worked on it around the same time. Do you remember what your changes were?

I would like to know if that is worth submitting a PR to PETSc.

Can we sort out what needs fixing here. The interpolation seems to be a persistent issue / intermittent bug. It would be nice to have this resolved (including for higher order meshes).
