Documents must be made compatible after all this time with Microsoft Office. Broken formatting is the deal breaker!
I don't not know for sure but are LibreOffice's developers trying to prove something after all this time, by not making documents fully compatible with MS Office? And if so, what?
It can't be emphasized enough how many people and new comers to Linux bumped into same thing after opening LibreOffice / Writer and had broken formatting.
It really is the deal breaker here. Could be for millions of office people. How many would donate if this simply worked? Is this compatibility even a goal for LibreOffice developers?
We all understand it’s "open source and free" OK. But what’s the point of creating an office suite that has no demand in the market? People don’t want to use it even for free!
This really is the main issue LibreOffice isn't going places even still. OnlyOffice appears to have the compatibility with MS Office docs better, but LibreOffice is certainly overall better.
LibreOffice is by no means a new project and almost nothing in this particular area has changed for the better in every day usability.
If someone of the team could explain the logic behind this MS Office docx etc. incompatibility? Thank you for all the hard work so far, but LO cannot go on like this.
