OpenVBX - SMS Conversation - Slow to load MMS

I am using SMS Conversation in my OpenVBX installation. When I try an load conversation with multiple MMS messages, the plugin slows down (15-30 seconds to load 1 conversation). Is this an problem with OpenVBX, the SMS Conversation plugin or with my sites servers?

15-30 seconds sounds like a long time. How many messages on average are in a single sms conversation?

It can range but, most are about 5 MMS messages.
