Thanks for the report, I made a couple fixes (15361d51ffa5f963f9c8fef0918d4f21957e5f87 and af786bfc22dbc7ef2294a9d6b355b354b382e5af) and I think this should be fixed.
Can you also add the sample log line that was not matched into the format file.

Sorry I haven't done anything with this yet, was waiting to take a look after v0.13.0 release.
Is there something you want me to do here? lnav tries to open the platform's syslog by default and it's not able to do that because it's not readable.
