Enhancement: could boomer be enhanced to open a local image?

Hi,

I really like the zoom capabilities of boomer. I wonder whether this could be used to open an arbitrary image in my computer (instead of the screenshots).

If not, does anybody know some other program which satisfies these 2 requirements: being able to open local images and zoom capabilities like boomer?
