Selecting multiple tabs with Shift/Ctrl does not work

Intuitively I would like to be able to select regions while having pressed Shift and be able to selectively select tabs when having pressed Ctrl

In addition, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multiple-tab-handler/ is blocked by this extension.

Can this be fixed? I am using waterfox because Tab Tree was so good to not use! In waterfox multiple-tab-handler does not work!
