Hi @JeffreySmithA good question! The [OpenAlex docs](https://docs.openalex.org/api-entities/works/work-object#counts_by_year) explained that `cited_by_count` only goes back 10 years, so that explains some missing years, but I'm not sure why we see 12 here...
