An exception occurred: TaskError: b'Upload failed!'
I have tried several times to upload two videos. A few days ago there were no problems at all with a similar size.
Hi! Is this still reproducible?
@mikez-wmf : Thank you for looking into this issue. If I don't adjust any parameters when uploading, I haven't had any problems recently. I then change all the details later. I'm currently uploading a short video (20251207 xl 1109-Scheebeeren-Knallerbsen.webm). Perhaps queries could be built in that do not allow invalid parameters. I haven't noticed which parameter it could be. (The fact that underscores are not allowed in file names is very well detected. But that's not it.)
Thanks for the quick feedback! Ok maybe that's one meta issue that could be addressed instead as I wonder how many times this bugs people. I agree that we just shouldn't allow invalid parameters if a reasonable query can be written.
@mikez-wmf
Thanks for your feedback as well. It would be great if invalid parameters were queried. Until then, I have my workaround, which is to leave all parameters blank except for the file name I want and change them later.
PS1: A quick guide on the start page would also be very helpful.
PS2: It would actually be interesting to know how many people simply stop using the tool after failed attempts.
PS3: It would be even better if the tool were integrated into the Wikimedia Upload Wizard!
