Can't figure out URL structure for SASS files!

I can't seem to get any URL's to be recognized by my SCSS.

This is the snippet from my _main.scss file

background-image: url(../../../app/assets/img/bg.jpg)

So... that's going up the tree out of the Partials, Scss, Src, and then goes into the app file tree to find my bg.jpg.

Any help would be greatly appreicated.
