kmdiff crashes with malloc.c:2415 sysmalloc assertion failure

While running the kmdiff diff step, I encountered a repeated malloc.c:2415 assertion failure. Below is the relevant output:

This happened while submitting a job through SLURM. Has anyone seen this behavior before or know what might be causing it?
