Group icon missing by using Google Drive desktop app
(Using latest update of Windows 11)
Hi,
This is something very specific, I need to highlight this. I use the G Drive App for my daily needs, I find it very useful if you have several computers and you need all of them to have some sync, at some levels. For example, I stream on twitch and the setup is entirely available via windows links such as V:\Mon Drive\Stream (yes, belgian french guy). So for this reason, the G Drive app makes it simple. Any online Drive file can easely be used as a local file. Because it launches sort of a dummy hard drive, it does not take any space on your cpu. It's just considered as a new hard drive.
In this context, I thought it'd be pretty nice to have both taskbars the same on each computer. So, I've put the TaskbarGroups folder into my G Drive folder, which means I have the same files updated in all computers I use. I've setup some nice icons that I also have on my G Drive folder, and everything works, icons are there, beautiful. But, when I shut down the computer and then turn it on, icons are missing. It seems like each time I turn on the computer, I have to give it the info again that the icons it doesn't find are in the same place, which for some reason, works.
Don't get me wrong, these taskbar groups works, even if icons are missing. But icons comes from the G Drive App, which does not start faster than Windows. That means, the Taskbar can't update itself with the correct links (windows links).
One thing I didn't try and do not want to try (because Microsoft sucks), is using the One Drive app instead, because I suspect it to be launched faster and at the same time that Windows does. And maybe, same company, things could work, idk. Anyway, not going to try this, but if you do, let me know in the comments if it worked.
Another solution could be, running a script that updates the taskbar a minute or so after windows launches.
It might solve the problem. If it does not, I'll have to use seperate setups which is ok, but extremely frustrating.

I think it is fixed already here in my fork. This fork has had a lot of updates done to it from master. If it has the same icon issue, open an issue over there, and I'll patch in a fix if I find one.
