Reset the input value when changing root node

Hi,

I also experienced https://github.com/timc1/kbar/issues/342 so I thought I'd take a quick look - it appears this fixes it. Before I take this any further I just wanted to check that:

• This is the 'correct' functionality and is wanted
• To what level tests etc need to be adjusted for this.

I have this on a fork, so please feel free to close this if it's not what you want.
