Trending FAQs
I posted this in the forums:
"I'm sorry if this has been addressed before, but I searched around and wasn't able to find anything.
Is there a way to have a section for 'trending' faqs? For example, if a commonly used page has thousands of views, a new and important FAQ will never make it to the 'top FAQ' section. If there was a 'trending' section that had FAQs that were getting a ton of hits in a relatively short amount of time, it would be extremely useful. An admin could potentially sticky new/important faqs, but I really like the idea of everything being community driven if possible.
What do you guys think?"
And received this reply:
"Hi,
we have something similiar with our "sticky FAQs" but your idea ist quite nice. You can add this feature request here: https://github.com/thorsten/phpMyFAQ/issues

I agree that this would be a nice feature. However, to implement it, it would have to calculate the "trending" part from page views of those FAQs. From what I can tell, PhpMyFaq only keeps track of general pageviews but doesn't know how many views each FAQ got.
Or I may be wrong. Please correct me if so.
In any case, would love to see this feature because it would add a very "viral" kind of feel to the product, which also helps a lot in a Support system.
We track the number of views per FAQ, so it would be possible without adding new tables.
