Just wondering about the thinking behind the ffi to Zig, instead of Rust directly?

Just wondering about rewriting Rust to Zig

webview is written on C/C++ Install 150gb Rust's toolchain and wait 1000 years compilation just to use "safe" rust bindings over C to have fake safety (as always) am I right? In ecosystem that was build on Zig (which is also portable C compiler)?
