termux-battery-status hangs on Android Go 8.1

Problem description termux-battery-status does nothing, it just hangs until I hit ctrl-c.

Steps to reproduce Get your hands on a Android Go 8.1 device such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/Tel%C3%A9fono-Android-desbloqueado-desbloqueo-Smartphones/dp/B09D7DM2TG

Install Termux app, Termux-Api app and termux-api package.

Enter termux-battery-status in termux command line. Stare at screen.

Expected behavior termux-battery-status should immediately report battery info.

Additional information

  • termux-api application version: 0.44
  • termux-api package version (installed through apt): 0.57 (? not sure, how do I get this info)
  • Android OS version: Go 8.1.0 / Security update: April 1, 2019
  • Device model: KXD 6A
  • Termux app version: 0.101

termux-api application version: 0.44 Termux app version: 0.101

Please try with latest termux versions from github or fdroid, we don't maintain such old versions

Set Termux:API APP to autostart.which worked on my Xiaomi phone (Android 13).
