Documentation for Tenable Nessus?

Open kintaroju opened this issue 9 months ago • 2 comments

Hi,

I've noticed that there is a new section called "Tenable Nessus" on the pyTenable documentation:

https://pytenable.readthedocs.io/en/stable/api/nessus/index.html

My inquiry is to confirm if this is to help interface with the Nessus Scanners through the pyTenable library and if so, can there be a sample code on how to connect to the Nessus scanner using this library? Similar to the Tenable Security Center section, it talks how to use that class and connect to it:

https://pytenable.readthedocs.io/en/stable/api/sc/index.html

Thanks!

@SteveMcGrath just curious if there is anything I can do to help/test here

@kintaroju The interface works identically to how the other packages work, as they all inherit from the Base Platform object:

https://pytenable.readthedocs.io/en/stable/api/base/platform.html

The Nessus package really does need a lot of love and attention in terms of some documentation updates and fleshing out, however it's been a low priority with all the other changes in the enterprise product packages.
