Can't install without administrator rights

It looks like a very cool tool, very useful for some border cases.

I wanted to try this tool, but it needs admin rights. I fail to see the reason for this, maybe you can loose the restriction from the installer?

Letting an administrator install the tool and making it available for non-admins seems to be a solution to me.

Why would the administrator install something which needs admin rights without me understanding why. I actually assume this is not needed, and just some relic which most installers seem to default to.

Anyway, what you suggest is not a possibility, besides if all the application would work like that I couldn't update any application without asking for help.

What you're saying is a potential perspective to weigh. It would be a good thing if security boundaries can be respected.

What I'm saying is to provide a reasoning behind what telerik does right now, and that's not even blatantly wrong.

The workaround is there: VMware thinapp the installation and try to use it.

Indeed the admin rights are a relic needed for writing installer specific stuff in the registry. Removing that relic is kind of hard, though, since a lot has been done on top of it with time.
