Issue with Opening Deeplink in Telegram Desktop

Open icekristal opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a deeplink in Telegram Desktop on Windows. (For example: https://t.me/office_app_bot?start=WRKPE0KVIBO-fa9320f9081f2131d261dc05dfb172d8 )
  2. Observe that the "START" button must be pressed manually for the link to process correctly.
  3. Compare this behavior to other platforms where the deeplink is processed automatically.

Expected behaviour

Deeplink should be processed automatically upon opening in Telegram Desktop, without requiring manual interaction (pressing the "START" button).

Actual behaviour

In Telegram Desktop on Windows, the user must manually press the "START" button for the deeplink to be processed. This does not align with behavior observed on other platforms.

Operating system

Windows 11 24H2 (but doesnt` matter whar ver. Windows)

Version of Telegram Desktop

5.8.3 x64

Installation source
