Issues resolving repo.saltproject.io

Attempting to update SIFT using sudo cast install teamdfir/sift-saltstack results in an error due to failed name resolution of repo.saltproject.io. Here are the results of a recent test from the latest SIFT OVA:

As shown in the screenshot, although repo.saltproject.io fails to resolve, saltproject.io does resolve. Other basic name resolution tests also show that this is not a resolution error due to the client configuration. So something else is going on here.

This has consistently been an problem based on searching open & closed issues in this repo for the term repo.saltproject.io: https://github.com/teamdfir/sift/issues?q=is%3Aissue+repo.saltproject.io.

Can we do something to avoid cast relying on repo.saltproject.io?

Hi @mpilking This has been resolved with recent versions of cast. It just hasn't been updated in the newest SIFT OVA at the moment.

Thanks for the input @digitalsleuth. Is there an ETA on a new OVA?

And in general, how do we know when the OVA gets updated? Could we get the OVA release date included along with the hashes on the main SIFT download page at https://www.sans.org/tools/sift-workstation/?
