When using Dell D3100 dock and external monitor it seems like the iGPU isn't being used

When using my monitor with this dock I notice everything is really slow in terms of graphics, my monitor is the LG29UM58, which only has a resolution 2560x1080, which is lower than the display on my actual XPS because it is the "4k" version. I am running 10.12.5

I believe that I covered this in another issue, but this isn't the place to ask for support on OSX things, but on problems with the deploy script, which this is not.
