Offset in grids

Would love to be able to offset rows - or add another transform per row- in grids so that rather than getting:

L    L    L    L    L
L    L    L    L    L
L    L    L    L    L
L    L    L    L    L

you'd be able to get:

L    L    L    L    L
  L    L    L    L    L
L    L    L    L    L
  L    L    L    L    L
