auto update issue

not sure if this was issue was seen recently for other, as i don't seem to find anything, but does it seem like the auto update feature hasn't really been working recently?

the app shows that there is an updated available, but never actually seems to do anything. i have left the app open for a while and also closed/reopened it as well.

(it occurs on windows, mac, and linux for me)

I have never seen the desktop app self-update neither and I have also left it open for hours at a time or re-opened the application. Running on Windows, haven't tested other OS's.
